Percent of County Population with Confirmed Cases

The map below demonstrates the percent of confirmed cases per county, based upon each county's population.

By April, 2020,many counties still had not experienced a single case; However, in most counties, more than .1 percent of their population had been infected. We began to see geographical clusters where significant proportions of the county population (>5%) had been infected. The state level data, which most people are accustomed to seeing, dilutes these clusters because of the counties in each state that had not yet experienced significant spread.
